Data Scientist/Engineer
202 Group is a data analytics company with roots in client service and analysis. Our current technical delivery team is looking for a new member to scale existing solutions for larger data sets and broader client audiences while building cloud native tools that can be used across the enterprise by non-technical analysts. We need an experienced data scientist or engineer to help us build an integrated data pipeline which focuses on data upload and storage, ETL, modeling, and reporting/analytics. Building, maintaining, and adapting this environment would be your primary job, but you’ll also help out on technical delivery and contribute to our overall codebase. You will work closely with our existing technical delivery team, which has core competencies in creatively leveraging data to solve novel client problems, prototyping solutions, and delivering insights.
Primary Responsibilities
- With consultations from the delivery team, work independently to build a scalable, language–agnostic data science environment using AWS and other commercial tools (e.g., DataBricks) that acts as a force multiplier for our analysis and technical delivery teams
- Maintain and adapt the environment to meet new analytic and client requirements
- Serve as a resource for technical project execution
- Contribute to and maintain sections of the 202 Group’s codebase
- Help with selection and execution of ML/AI/NLP tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Fluent in Python and/or R (other languages a plus)
- Advanced ETL experience
- Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
- Experience with Cloud environments
- Parallel computing experience, e.g., spark
- Experience with agile methodologies
- Experience working with APIs
- 3-5 years’ work experience
- Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field

Nice to have
- Cloud training or certification (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner)
- Aerospace-defense and/or federal government knowledge and experience

- Graduate degree in a quantitative field
- Linux/Unix administration and scripting
- Experience with Graph theory/databases
- Experience in administering software development platforms, e.g., Github, Gitlab etc.
- Familiarity with web design tools, e.g., JavaScript, CSS, html, LaTex etc.
- Security clearance
